Welcome to Dormont, PA.  Dormont housing options include older, historic homes, multi-family homes and a strong rental market.  Many of the homes have old world charm with stained glass windows, hardwood floors and built-in cabinetry.  Homes in Dormont can be purchased for less than half the national average.

Dormont was originally fashioned as a borough from parts of Scott and Union Townships. An order of incorporation was signed on March 31, 1909, making Dormont the first independent municipality in the South Hills of Allegheny County.  Dormont is serviced by Keystone Oaks School District.

Recreation

Dormont is well known for Dormont Pool, a large public pool whose future is uncertain.  For now, it is still open from Memorial Day through Labor Day.  Dormont offers over 30 acres of public parks, including Dormont Park and Beggs Park.  They offer ballfields, creative play areas, playground equipment, picnic pavilions, tennis courts, a street hockey court, basketball court, horseshoe courts and a walking trail.  The recreation center offers a variety of classes for residents. 

Shopping

Dormont is a walking community with ample opportunities for shopping and dining.  The Rt. 19 / Washington Road and Potomac Avenue area offers a variety of stores and restaurants.  Banksville Road also includes a shopping area with a grocery store, smaller shops and restaurants.  Just a few miles from the city of Pittsburgh, there is no limit to shopping and cultural opportunities.
