Welcome to South Fayette Township. Formed in 1842, the population grew as coal, oil, gas and steel industries created the need for many workers. Company housing was created and many of the coal "patch" neighborhoods still exist today. South Fayette has seen a boom in new construction in recent years with many new developments built by Ryan, Heartland and Maronda Homes, as well as other local custom builders. The 2010 census documented 14,416 residents in South Fayette. The township is serviced by the award winning South Fayette School District.

The township offers over 125 acres of parks with trails, baseball fields, tennis & basketball courts, soccer courts, pavilions, batting cages, playgrounds, dog walking trails, tot playgrounds, walking and biking trails and picnic facilities.
Shopping
South Fayette is in close proximity to Bridgeville which offers a wide selection of shops and restaurants. About 20 minutes from the airport, more shopping is available at the Robinson Town Center area.
