Come Home to Pittsburgh South Hills.
Welcome to the South Hills of Pittsburgh. The "South Hills" is a nickname used by Pittsburgh residents to differentiate between the suburban areas north of Pittsburgh and the areas south of Pittsburgh. Which suburbs are actually included in the "South Hills" depends on who you talk to, but generally speaking, they can include: Baldwin, Whitehall, Brentwood, West Mifflin, Pleasant Hills, Jefferson, South Park, Bethel Park, Castle Shannon, Upper St. Clair, Mt. Lebanon, Dormont, Scott Township and some folks will also include Brookline, Beechview, Carrick, Mt. Oliver, Overbrook, Mt. Washington, South Side, Clairton and more.
The South Hills offers an incredible range of housing choices including townhouses, condos, patio homes, single family detached homes, multi-family homes, investment properties, apartment buildings, vacant land and commercial properties.
There are neighborhoods where rental properties are more prevalent. Each township will have positives and negatives; there will be differences in municipal rules & regulations, real estate tax millages, proximity to public transportation, school districts, recreational facilities, etc.
Home pricing ranges from under $50,000 to over a million. As a general rule, closer to the city of Pittsburgh, you will find neighborhoods with older, smaller homes. As you get further away from the city, there is more new construction with more square feet of living space available. But there are plenty of exceptions to be found.
